HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC 

P & B Group – Hamilton Based

P & B Mechanical Limited has a career opportunity for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Hamilton branch. P & B Group is a family-owned business, which has been trading for over 25 years. As well as having a heavy and light workshop in Hamilton we also operate both an auto electrical workshop, and a 4×4 parts retail businesses in Hamilton. We are OEM service agents for UD Trucks, Case & ASV. And have recently been appointed dealer and service agent for Hyundai trucks for the Waikato region.

Due to continued growth and expansion, we are currently seeking a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our team. We currently have workshop-based position with the opportunity to grow and develop with the company. The role will involve the following tasks –

• Mechanical servicing and repairs of heavy vehicles and machinery
• Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems
• Running and analyzing diagnostic tests on vehicles
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the workshop
• Working closely with other stakeholders and provide excellent customer service

They will have:

• A Diesel Mechanic qualification
• Good time management
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team when required
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Great diagnostic skills with the ability to ‘think on your feet’ and ‘problem solve’
• Ideally at least 3 years of post-qualification work experience
• Positive, can-do attitude
• A passion for providing excellent customer service, & ‘getting it right first time’
